Canada's Success at the Incredibly Popular Vancouver 7s

Mark Janzen was on hand last weekend for the insanely popular Vancouver 7s at BC Place. He got all the greatest action shots, including of the Canada 7s team’s great weekend. The boys were clearly pumped, spurred on by the hometown crowd. Captains Harry Jones and Nate Hirayama kept the spirit alive with the crowd, pumping revelers up each time they stepped on the field. The atmosphere was electric, the mood celebratory. Canada lost the quarter-final in a heartbreaker of one inch off the try-line for a play Theo Sauder won’t soon forget. But they came back strong to win the Bronze – and the hearts of every single spectator. It was a great way to celebrate rugby in Canada, especially as it was on the verge of more sobering news this week of a virtual stoppage of play for the foreseeable future. A great final mass gathering, and great photos to accompany it. Enjoy!
