The Pursuit to GET STRONGER: An Introduction

We are all working toward something.

Working toward a goal.

Working toward a dream.

Working toward greatness.

We look to icons and aspirational figures as the prime examples of what it takes to achieve greatness. These role models exude confidence, self-efficacy, and above-average capabilities that often seem superhuman. But behind their goal-crushing tendencies which we tend to idolize, we aren’t often privy to the behind-the-scenes of what it takes to maintain their legendary reputations.

What is an athlete?

Ask a few people and you’ll quickly come to realize that the definition is much more fluid than expected. We all have the capability to be athletes in some form or another, but very few of us hold the prestige of being professional or elite athletes. Rugby is a sport that requires rigour, grit, and relentless strength. It’s not for the faint of heart. A rugby player’s body will, more likely than not, suffer in the aftermath of their career, their psyche will be tested in the most extreme circumstances, and their drive will always operate at full force. The investment that rugby players put into their sport is incomparable to most, which makes these athletes some of the most aspirational figures in the sports industry.

If you’ve ever wondered what a typical rugby player has to endure every day to be the best of the best, look no further. This series will reveal a microcosm of what it takes to train like a professional athlete in the sport of rugby – straight from the source as you’ve never seen before.
